State & Federal Legislative Support

 

Government Relations for local, state, and federal issues related to HIV, STDs, and Hepatitis face challenges in different ways. HIV is known to be a politically ‘hot’ topic only with limitations of amounts of funds Congress is willing to appropriate. While there are many friendly members of Congress as it relates to HIV, the courage to move forward past the Ryan White CARE Act has yet to be shown. The balance between what Congress wants to accomplish played across the fears of the national advocates and local providers has not made adequate progress to match the needs of those at risk or living with disease. The time is upon all of us to move away from this form of “let’s make this work or else we might lose all funding” to one of understanding it’s time for HIV, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Hepatitis to be incorporated as a component of Public Health that assures coverage for everyone in need.  is passionate about serving a major role to facilitate the transition to a place where one can see there is guaranteed coverage.  will gladly consider all government relations activities at the local, state, regional, and national levels.
